Laser Centreboard Friction Pad (ILCA)
Laser Centreboard Friction Pad (ILCA)
The rubber pad placed underneath the hiking strap plate at the rear of the centreboard case which is used to hold the centreboard in place. The placement of your centreboard is a key influence on the performance characteristics of your ILCA, and it is important to ensure you always keep your centreboard at the correct height. Have you ever been annoyed by your centreboard popping up while sailing upwind through waves? Hiking in an ILCA is hard enough as it is, you don't need your hard work to go to waste as a result of a loose centreboard! Similarly, you want to ensure you can keep your centreboard out of the water when reaching and sailing downwind.ÂÂ
